The Eagle River Historical Society was formed in 1998, and in 1999 opened its Museum in the former administration building on the Trees for Tomorrow campus on Sheridan Street in Eagle River. Unfortunately, the Historical Society lost its lease on the museum at Trees for Tomorrow in October of 2010 and had to place its collections into four storage units. If you would care to help the Society fund a new museum, click on the “Donations” link.”

In 2007, the Society leased the former Chicago and Northwestern Railway depot building on Railroad Street in Downtown Eagle River. The Depot Museum is open for the season on Memorial Day weekend and are open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm until the Labor Day weekend, then the Depot Museum remains open until Klondike Days weekend in March on Fridays and Saturdays only.
